I sometimes devote my time to a more modest pursuit, making objects out of wood that have a strong meaning for me, or simply learning new making skills out of interest or necessity.

Being part of a wood workshop, I am bathed in hard timber and the love of wood that my fellow makers are sharing. One of them in particular taught me how to recognise them and shared her love and vision for this material.

With this passed on knowledge and deep respect for wood, I play with the grain and natural shapes, making objects as an act of admiration, receptivity and exploration.
